TYLER – The UT Tyler men and women’s tennis teams will host Austin College in a non-conference match on Saturday at the Summers Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m. for Homecoming Weekend.

“We are very excited for our match this weekend against Austin College.” UT Tyler head coach Adam Cohen said. “They have a very talented Head Coach that knows how to get the best out of his players. They have a very strong women’s program, so as in any other match, preparation is key. We will see if our women can implement what we’ve been working so hard at in practice. On the men’s side, they have a scary group. They are a lot like us where they really take pride in their doubles. I am looking forward to seeing how our men come back after a great doubles performance last weekend.”

The No. 23-ranked men’s team has a record of 2-1 and is coming off a big win over UT Permian Basin. The team beat UTPB by a score of 5-4 with two big wins coming from Vinicio Hadlich and ASC Player of the Week Pablo Gomez. The team will play Tyler Junior College in an exhibition at The Cascades on Wednesday before they head to Orlando, FL for six matches over Spring Break.

The UT Tyler women’s team fell 7-2 in their match against UTPB. Alexis Arrieta won a pair of matches for the Patriots and earned ASC Player of the Week. She began her day with a doubles win alongside teammate Alexandra McKissick and then moved on to a singles win, 6-2, 6-4. The Patriots are now 1-1 on the season going into their match against Austin College on Saturday before playing their next six matches in Orlando, Florida.

Matches will begin at 10 a.m. at the Summers Tennis Center on Saturday. You can follow UT Tyler on social media at for all sports updates and links.
