    PREVIEW: @patriotstennis to play two matches in St. Louis

    The UT Tyler tennis teams travel to St. Louis, Missouri to play Washington University at 4 p.m. and DePauw University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The men and women’s teams are on four-match win streaks and will look to continue that success in their final matches of the year before the American Southwest Conference Championships.

    AWARD: Quevedo earns ASC East Player of the Week

    UT Tyler senior Marisa Quevedo has earned her second ASC East Division Player of the Week honor after helping lead the Patriots to the ASC East Division title with a win over East Texas Baptist last Thursday. Quevedo and the Patriots return to action this weekend with matches against Washington and DePauw in St. Louis, Missouri.

    CHAMPS: @Patriotstennis wins ASC East titles

    The UT Tyler tennis programs earned American Southwest Conference East Division titles after securing a pair of wins over East Texas Baptist on Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Tennis Complex. The No. 37-ranked Patriot women won their 13th divisional title and will host the ASC Championship from April 26-28 at the Summers Tennis Center. The No. 30-ranked men’s team won 7-2 over the Tigers for their 15th straight divisional championship.

    AWARD: Arrieta earns ASC Player of the Week

    Alexis Arrieta had a perfect week of play by going 2-0 in doubles with partner Alexandra McKissick and also winning two singles matches in victories over Ozarks and LeTourneau at home. Arrieta and McKissick won both of their matches with 8-1 margins, while Arrieta was a 6-0, 6-0 second singles winner of Ozarks' Lexy Corona on Sunday and then rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 first singles win over LeTourneau's Maddison Brackenreg on Monday night. Arrieta now has six singles wins in her senior season and her and McKissick are 6-3 in doubles play going into a Thursday showdown at ETBU in Marshall.

    The UT Tyler Tennis teams will host a pair of American Southwest Conference matches against Ozarks at 9 a.m. on Sunday and LeTourneau at 5 p.m. on Monday after playing at ETBU on Saturday in a three-match stretch. The Patriots will honor their three seniors, Alexis Arrieta, Marisa Quevedo, and Alexandre Bouchard prior to their match against Ozarks, beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Summers Tennis Center. The matches were moved to due to weather.

    PREVIEW: @patriotstennis set for big weekend on the road

    The UT Tyler tennis teams will go on the road this weekend where they will take on some fierce competition down in the hill country. The Patriot men’s team will play No. 31 Kalamazoo College on Thursday at 10 a.m. in San Antonio before facing off against No. 15 Trinity University on Friday at Noon. The team will then travel down the road to Austin to face a 5-1 Colby College squad. As for the women, they will face No. 18 Trinity in San Antonio on Friday before they play Colby College on Saturday at noon in Austin.

    The UT Tyler men and women’s tennis teams began Saturday’s Homecoming with two wins over non-conference opponent Austin College at the Summers Tennis Center. The men’s team did not drop a match in a 9-0 route with the women’s team following them up with an 8-1 win over the Kangaroos.

    The UT Tyler men's tennis team earned a 5-4 win over UT Permian Basin on Sunday, while the women fell 7-2 to the Falcons at the Summers Tennis Center. UT Tyler also played Collin County and Jacksonville in a pair of exhibition matches and will now host Austin College at 10 a.m. on Saturday in their next home match during Homecoming Weekend.

    SCHEDULE UPDATE: @patriottennis moves matches to Sunday

    The UT Tyler tennis home matches against UT Permian Basin, Collin County and Jacksonville College at the Summers Tennis Center have been moved back to Sunday due to weather forecasts. The teams have been off for two weeks after opening their season on February 3rd with wins over Hardin-Simmons, before their second match was canceled because of weather. The No. 23-ranked men’s team also played St. Edward’s on Feb. 4, dropping an 8-1 decision to the Hilltoppers in College Station.

    The UT Tyler womens tennis team has been picked to win the American Southwest Conference East Division title in a vote last week by the head coaches of the conference. UT Tyler received 72 points and 7 first-place votes for the East Division and UT Dallas led the votes for the West Division with 10 to be preseason favorites.

    TOURNAMENT CENTRAL: ITA Southwest Championships

    The University of Texas at Tyler will host the ITA Southwest Regional Championship from Friday-Sunday at the Summers Tennis Center. The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country.

    The UT Tyler women’s and men’s tennis programs have been honored as Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Teams and fourteen student-athletes earned ITA Scholar Athlete for the Patriots.

    Adam Cohen to lead UT Tyler tennis programs

    The University of Texas at Tyler has hired Adam Cohen as the head tennis coach for the men’s and women’s programs. Cohen has an impressive 209-86 career record leading the Mesa Community College men’s and women’s programs from 2007-17, including winning nine conference championships and advancing to 17 national tournament appearances. He arrives in Tyler after guiding the Thunderbird men to four straight Arizona Community College Athletic Conference championships and the women to back-to-back titles.
