TYLER -- The UT Tyler women's tennis team opened the 2015 American Southwest Conference tournament with a dominating 5-1 win over rival Texas Dallas.  The Patriots will face Hardin-Simmons in the final on Saturday.

UT Tyler (15-7) took a 2-1 advantage after doubles play, as the No. 3 team of Emily Hoover and Nicole Musngi teamed-up to win 8-1 over UTD's Katie Purdum and Michaela Galasy.

Sarah Moses and Jennifer Payne picked up win No. 2 for the Patriots on court two, winning 8-4 over the Comets' Ashwini Kulkami and Diana Roy.

Heading into singles-play, the Patriots needed three wins to clinch the match.  Nicole Musngi was the first to do so, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5, while Janae Warren won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.

Moses then clinched the match for the Patriots, winning 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, closing out the match 5-1 over the Comets.

UT Tyler will now face off against Hardin-Simmons at 1 p.m. on Saturday for a chance at the 2015 ASC title, its second-straight and sixth in seven years.
