TYLER -- The UT Tyler women's tennis team, the 2014 American Southwest Conference Champions, will open the 2014 NCAA postseason on Friday, May 9 in Claremont, California against Whitman College.
UT Tyler (19-6) is fresh off a dramatic win in the ASC Championship final, and has won 15 matches in-a-row entering the NCAA postseason.
The Patriots will take on Whitman College (15-9) on Thursday, May 8 in Claremont, California.
Whitman, the Northwest Conference Champions, have won eight matches in-a-row, and went undefeated in conference-play.
UT Tyler and Whitman will join host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (bye), UC Santa-Cruz, Pomona-Pitzer and La Verne (bye).
The first three rounds of the NCAA tournament will take place in Claremont, with the quarterfinals beginning May 19 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
