TYLER -- The UT Tyler women's tennis team dominated Hardin-Simmons 5-0 in the second semi-final on Saturday, earning a spot in the 2014 American Southwest Conference championship final on Sunday. With the win, the Patriots are now 18-5 on the year.
UT Tyler started the day with a 3-0 sweep in doubles, as the No. 3 team of Haley Albro and Nicole Musngi won 8-2 over the Cowgirls.
Amy Friesenhahn and Tori Musngi teamed up to win 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Jessica Blundell and Jennifer Payne won 8-3 at No. 2.
In singles, N. Musngi won without dropping a game, winning 6-0, 6-0 while Jennifer Payne also went unblemished at No. 2, winning 6-0, 6-0.
The Patriots will now take on rival Texas-Dallas at 9 a.m. on Sunday in the ASC Championship final.
