    @patriotstennis earns ITA All-Academic Team honors

    The UT Tyler women’s and men’s tennis programs have been honored as Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Teams and fourteen student-athletes earned ITA Scholar Athlete for the Patriots.

    Adam Cohen to lead UT Tyler tennis programs

    The University of Texas at Tyler has hired Adam Cohen as the head tennis coach for the men’s and women’s programs. Cohen has an impressive 209-86 career record leading the Mesa Community College men’s and women’s programs from 2007-17, including winning nine conference championships and advancing to 17 national tournament appearances. He arrives in Tyler after guiding the Thunderbird men to four straight Arizona Community College Athletic Conference championships and the women to back-to-back titles.

    The UT Tyler men's tennis team finished the 2017 season ranked No. 23 in the nation, Arthur Fagundes is No. 16 in singles play and the women's team finished 12th in the West Region.

    AWARDS: @patriotstennis earns ASC East honors

    UT Tyler senior Tori Musngi earned American Southwest Conference Women's Tennis East Division First-Team honors in singles play and Lauren Kuhn, Nancy Perez, Alexandra McKissick and Savannah Seely were first-team selections in doubles within the division. A Rowlett native, Musngi finished her four-year career with 56 wins following going 11-4 as a senior in singles. Kuhn and Perez were 11-7 on the season as partners, while McKissick and Seely were 12-3. The Patriots finished as the ASC East Division regular-season champion and as the ASC Championship runner-up.

    With the match tied at four, Alexandra McKissick earned a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 fourth singles win to lift the UT Tyler Patriots to a 5-4 American Southwest Conference Women’s Tennis Championship semifinal win over UT Dallas on Friday at the Streich Tennis Complex.
