    AWARDS: Seven @soccerpatriots earn ASC honors

    The UT Tyler women's soccer team received seven selections on the American Southwest Conference All-ASC teams, highlighted by senior defender Caroline Williams and senior goalkeeper Emily Hurley who were named to the first-team for the Patriots. Additionally, Caitlyn Mortus and Kathleen Johnson were named to the All-ASC second team, while Landri Edwards, Alexandria Clowers and Kaelyn Steitz are All-ASC third-team performers. UT Tyler finished the season with an 11-5-1 record and having outscored its opponents by a 29-15 margin throughout the season.

    Down 2-0 at halftime in a rainstorm, it looked improbable that the UT Tyler women’s soccer team would be able to come back against East Texas Baptist and extended its season. It wasn’t impossible though and the Patriots are advancing after second-half goals from Ashleigh Ackroyd and Mariah Harmon and a 4-2 shootout advantage in the American Southwest Conference Championship quarterfinal at Cornish Filed.

    PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: L'Hoste helps with Hurricane Harvey search and rescue efforts

    UT Tyler senior Jessica L'Hoste is a member of the Army Reserves 136th Military Police Battalion which was called into active duty on Thursday, August 24. Also a defender on the soccer team, L'Hoste spent over two weeks in South Texas conducting search and rescue missions after Hurricane Harvey flooded Houston and the surrounding areas. She returned to Tyler, school and her team last Friday and played against Southwestern on Sunday. L’Hoste talks about some of her experiences in this video along with head coach Stefani Webb and fellow seniors Hanna Fischer and Caroline Williams describing their thoughts on the service L’Hoste displayed.

    L'Hoste called into U.S. Army active reserve duty

    On Thursday morning Jessica L'Hoste was practicing with her UT Tyler teammates on the sixth day of preseason soccer practice. After receiving a phone call and quickly packing some bags, L'Hoste was driving south that afternoon to join her other team - the 136th Military Police Battalion which has been called to help as Hurricane Harvey approaches the Texas coastline.

Lee High School.

    The UT Tyler athletic program had 41 student-athletes earn American Southwest Conference All-Academic honors for the Fall semester. The Patriots had five men’s cross country selections, eight from women’s cross country, eight men’s soccer, 13 women’s soccer players and seven from volleyball.

    Strother signs pro contract to play soccer in Iceland

    Former UT Tyler women’s soccer all-America Chestley Strother has signed a professional contract to continue her career in Iceland with UMF Sindri Hofn. Strother, who led the Patriots to a 17-1-2 record and an American Southwest Conference regular-season title in 2015 during her senior season, signed her contract on Wednesday with UMF Sindri which plays in Hofn, Iceland. She will report to Iceland in April to compete with UMF Sindri as a midfielder.

    Strother to join Houston Dash of NWSL

    After a record-breaking all-America career for the UT Tyler Patriots, Chestley Strother will join the Houston Dash of the National Women’s Soccer League on an amateur agreement following earning the opportunity through a tryout/training camp with the professional team. During that time, she impressed the Dash coaching staff and earned the opportunity to return to Houston and begin her pursuit of a professional career.
