TYLER -- UT Tyler women's soccer player Amanda Weaver was named a National Soccer Coaches of America Association Scholar All-Region for the 2012 season. To be named Scholar All-America, a college student must attain a 3.30 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Weaver, a senior defender from Arlington, garnered Honorable Mention Scholar All-Region, boasting a 3.9 grade point average and helping helping UT Tyler to its best season ever, finishing as runner-up in the American Southwest Conference with an 11-1 record.
The English major is a three-time All-Academic conference performer, as well as a two-time All-ASC performer on the field.
Weaver joins 43 other Division 3 players on the Scholar All-Academic team, and is the first NSCAA Scholar All-Region member in program history.
