TYLER –  UT Tyler sophomore Miranda Reyna scored the first two goals of her career and freshman Maren Moore added another as the Patriots earned a 3-0 win over Ozarks on Friday in an American Southwest Conference game at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

“I loved everything about tonight’s game,” UT Tyler head coach Stefani Webb said. “I thought we played with the right energy and moved the ball well. Another solid performance on the defensive side of the ball and we found our rhythm offensively. We’ve hit the post 19 times this year so it was great that we found the back of the net and hope that translates into confidence as we hit the road this week.”

The Patriots (9-4, 6-4 ASC) earned their eighth shutout of the season after the defense didn’t allow a single shot on goal by the Eagles (5-9-1, 1-8-1 ASC) in their final regular-season home game. UT Tyler improved to 6-3 at home with the shutout and has now outscored 22-5 margin.

A sophomore from Pflugerville, Reyna scored the first two goals of her career in the win starting with a 35th minute goal off an assist from Alexandria Clowers to give the Patriots a 1-0. Moore, a first-year player from McKinney, scored her career’s first goal to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead in the 52nd minute of play and was followed by Reyna scoring again and making it 3-0 with a goal in the 67th minute.

UT Tyler finished with a 9-0 shot advantage in the game, led by Vanessa Rangel and Reyna who had two each. Moore, Taylor Tarsi and Liz Rodriguez had one each for the Patriots who owned a 20-2 total shot advantage.

The Patriots will complete the regular season next weekend with road games at Belhaven on Thursday, Oct. 26 and the finale on Saturday, Oct. 28 against Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana.
