TYLER – The UT Tyler women’s soccer team fell 1-0 to East Texas Baptist on Thursday in an American Southwest Conference game where the Patriots hit the cross bar and the post on shots but couldn't find the net at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

The Patriots (7-4, 4-4 ASC) had shots on goal by Kaelyn Steitz and Kaycee West along with Vanessa Rangel hitting the post and Danielle Lacasse the crossbar in near goals. ETBU (9-4-1, 4-2-1 ASC) earned the road win with Kristi Freund hitting a low shot from about 30 yards out that skipped through the UT Tyler defense and past Emily Hurley in goal.

UT Tyler, which is now 4-3 at home and had a two-game winning streak end, had 13 total shots with most going wide of the goal. The Tigers’ goalkeeper Claire Montondon recorded two saves, while ETBU’s Hannah Murin had a game-best two shots on goal.

UT Tyler will look to bounce back on Saturday against LeTourneau when the Patriots host the YellowJackets at 3:30 p.m. at the Perkins Complex.
