BELTON – The UT Tyler women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision in overtime to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at the Cru Soccer Field.

The Patriots (5-2, 2-2 ASC) hung with the Cru in a scoreless tie through the first 90 minutes, but would fall in their first overtime of the season. UT Tyler goalkeeper Emily Hurley recorded 10 saves for the Patriots in regulation to send it to overtime.

In the 93rd minute, Elissa Mae Freberg put away the golden goal with an assist from Caitlyn Shaughnessy. Mary Hardin-Baylor (7-1-1, 3-0-1) held the Patriots to just five shots, none of which were on goal.

The Patriots next game is at home Thursday, September 28 against rival Hardin-Simmons. It will be FC Dallas Night with kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
