KANSAS CITY -- Four members of the UT Tyler women's soccer team have been named All-West Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America the organization announced Wednesday. Macy Hurley, Chestley Strother, Courtney Dunstan and Jordan Johnson took home the honors.
Hurley, a senior goalkeeper from Sulphur Springs was named First Team after a stellar year in goal in which she totaled a .80 goals-against average while allowing just 13 goals on the year. She also finished the season with five shutouts, which ranked third in the American Southwest Conference. She was also named First-Team All-ASC.
Strother, a sophomore from Whitehouse was tabbed Second Team All-Region after finishing the season as the team-leader in several offensive categories, including goals (9), points scored (20), shots (71) and shots-on-goal with 28. Strother was also named First Team All-ASC.
Dunstan, a junior defender, helped spearhead a UT Tyler-defense that gave up just 0.83 goals-per-game, which ranked second in the conference. She also started all 18 matches the Patriots played this season while being named First Team All-ASC. This is the second year in-a-row the defender has been named Third Team All-West Region.
Junior Jordan Johnson was also tabbed Third Team All-Region after finishing the year with five goals, five assists and 15 total points which ranked third on the team.
UT Tyler finished the year in the semifinals of the ASC Championship tournament.
