RECAP: @UTTylerWGolf in 8th entering final round

SANDESTIN, Fla. – UT Tyler’s Katelyn Hicken will go into the final round of the Golfweek Fall Invitational in 13th place overall the Patriots in eighth after Monday’s second round at the Baytown Golf Club.

Hicken has a 79-79 – 158 through 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament, while Taylor Denton has an 81-79 – 160 scorecard which has her in 21st overall and Amy Cox is 32nd after shooting an 82-80 – 162 at the prestigious tournament. The Patriots have a 323-323 – 646 team total through two days which has them eighth of 16 at the tournament that is being led by Washington University at 304-307 – 611.

UT Tyler freshman Hannah Washburn has an 81-85 – 166 and Stephanie Tutt is at 86-85 – 171 going into Tuesday’s final round. Hicken shot 7-over-par for the second straight day with one birdie and 11 pars in the second round, while Denton also had one birdie. Cox led the team with two birdies in her second round but also had seven bogeys.

Christiana Herbert leads the tournament with a 75-72 – 147 (3-over) for Bridgewater, while Washington’s Samantha Haubenstock is second with a 149. Washington leads the tournament with its 611, while Huntingdon is second with a 625 and Mary Hardin-Baylor is tied for third with Berry College with 638 totals.
