RECAP: @UTTylerWGolf in 6th after Golfweek's opening round

SANDESTIN, Fla. – UT Tyler’s Katelyn Hicken shot an opening round 79 on Sunday at the Golfweek Fall Invitational which was played at the Baytowne Golf Club and will continue on Monday and Tuesday for the Patriots who are tied for sixth after the first 18 of 54 holes.

Hicken is at 7-over-par after her first round and is in 11th place overall, while Taylor Denton and Hannah Washburn are tied for 29th after opening the tournament with 81s. UT Tyler senior Amy Cox carded an 82 and Stephanie Tutt shot an 86.

Washington University leads the tournament with a 304 team total, while Huntingdon is second with a 311 and Methodist and Oglethorpe are tied with a 318 on their first-round column. The Patriots are tied for sixth along with Mary Hardin-Baylor after the two American Southwest Conference teams finished with a 323 four-player score total on Sunday in Florida.

Individually, Samantha Haubenstock and Chloe DiPetrillo lead the tournament with 74s on the scorecard of the two Washington University scorecards.

The 54-hole tournament will continue on Monday with 18 more holes before Tuesday’s final round.
