@UTTylerWGolf finishes second at George Fox Invite in Arizona

Peoria, Ariz. – The UT Tyler women’s golf team took second place and Laura Lindsey finished fourth on the individual leaderboard at the George Fox Westbrook Invitational on Sunday which was played at the Westbrook Village Golf Club. The Patriots were one shot behind George Fox in the eight-team field.

Lindsey shot 73-73 – 146 for a 36-hole 4-over-par total for fourth place at the event, while Stephanie Tutt soot 74-75 – 149 to claim a sixth-place finish. Morgan Loth’s 75-76 – 151 and Amy Cox’s 79-72 – 151 secured a tie for eighth and four top-10 finishes for the Patriots who had a team total of 301-296 – 597 over the two rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

George Fox won its home tournament (away from home in Arizona) after shooting a 297-299 – 596 with Sydney Maluenda winning the tournament for the Bruins with a 297-299 – 596. The Patriots, who cut into a four-shot deficit after the first round with a tournament low-round of 296 on Sunday, finished ahead of Redlands which was third with a 603 and Trinity’s 615.

UT Tyler will take a two-week break from competition before returning to play in the Division III National Spring Preview on April 4-5 in Houston at Bay Oaks.
