Golf Teams Ranked in Top-15 in Golf World Poll

TYLER -- The UT Tyler men's and women's golf teams have finished their regular season ranked in the top-15 in the men's and women's Golf World-WGCA Coaches Poll.  The men finished at No. 15 while the women come in at No. 11 in this week's poll.

UT Tyler's women won two of their last three tournaments, coming in second-place at the 2013 American Southwest Conference Championship this past week.  

The Patriots garnered 222 points, moving up from No. 13 last week.

UT Tyler's men dropped a couple of spots to No. 15 in the poll, finishing the season with a runner-up finish at the ASC Championships at Crown Colony.

Oglethorpe, last season's DIII National Champion comes in at No. 1 in the men's poll, while Methodist takes the top spot in the women's top-25.

ASC rival Mary Hardin-Baylor, who won the conference tournament this week is ranked No. 2 in the nation, while Schreiner comes in at No. 13.

Both teams are awaiting the announcement to see if either will be an at-large bid for the 2013 National Championships which will be held May 14-17 at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida.
