Women's Golf Finishes 1st at Al Jones Mem.

TYLER -- The UT Tyler women's golf team finished in first-place at the Al Jones Memorial Tornament after firing a 643 combined-score, finishing one stroke ahead of Southwestern. 

Freshman Laura Lindsey, who finished fifth at the Paris JC Tournament a few weeks ago, improved to a first-place overall finish in the individual competition after shooting a combined 154.

Jordan and Taylor Sloane both finished in the top-20, firing combined scores of 160 and 166 respectively.

Marina Rhodes and Katie Crawford also helped the team secure the win, both finishing in the top-20 individually.

The UT Tyler "Orange" team also had a nice tournament, finishing in fourth-place after shooting a combined 662 for the tournament.

Megan Escoe finished in second-place overall, finishing with a score of 154 for the tournament, while teammate Brittany Stansburg finished in a tie for sixth-place after shooting a 159.

Morgan Galloway and Autumn Hexamer also helped the Orange team with the top-four finish, firing a 167 and 182 respectively.

Rounding out the top-five in the team competition was Southwestern in second-place, Tyler Junior College in third, Texas-Tyler Orange in fourth and Texas Wesleyan in fifth.

Fellow American Southwest Conference teams Hardin-Simmons and Concordia finished in sixth and seventh, while Hendrix finished in last-place with a combined score of 905. 

The ladies will hit the course again next week, at the Birmingham Southern Invite in Alabama.
