JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. -- The University of Texas at Tyler women's golf team finished an impressive fourth place at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational over the weekend.
Tied for sixth overall after two rounds, UT Tyler shot a combined 325 in the third round to move up to fourth place in the final standings. Jordan Woodruff shaved 11 strokes off her second round to help the Patriots move up.
Playing against some of the top competition in the country, the Patriots were led by Katie Harris who shot a combined 239 (80-80-79) to finished in a tie for 10th place.
Danica Weddle fired a 242 (79-82-81) to grab 15th place in the individual standings, while Callie Rice finished in a tie for 21st place with a 247 (83-81-83). Woodruff had a three-round total of 260 (85-932-82) and Shelby Smith had a 268 (93-86-89).
The Patriots are off until April 4 when they travel to Round Rock, Texas, for the Southwestern Invitational.
