RECAP: Willis leads #UTTylerXC at Dallas Invitational

IRVING – Rachel Willis finished fourth and Justin Tokuz was 14th to lead the UT Tyler cross country teams at the University of Dallas Invitational on Saturday on the UD campus.

Willis ran a 19:49 in the 5K race to lead the Patriots for the second time this season, while Stephanie Pierce ran a 21:20 for 22nd overall. Lauren Halliday was 25th with a time of 21:45 to lead the Patriot women who would finish sixth overall in the 10-team race. The Patriots did not send all of their runners to the event, including Holly Nohavitza on the women’s side and the top men’s runners.

Tokuz would pace the me with a run of 17:26 in the 5K race and Parker Cota was 22nd with a time of 17:44. Andrew Hernandez was 24th after crossing the line in 17:48 and Jackson Wascheck was 38th after running a 18:30. UT Tyler would finish fifth of 10 despite being without its top runner.
