TYLER – The UT Tyler Patriots have dropped to No. 21 in the WBCA NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches’ Poll and D3Hoops.com Women’s Top-25 Poll after taking a pair of American Southwest Conference losses last week on the road.

The Patriots (5-2, 0-2 ASC) had a 32-game ASC winning streak and a 21-game regular-season winning streak end with a 67-66 loss at Sul Ross last Thursday and then took a 75-63 defeat at Howard Payne on Saturday for their first two-game losing streak since January 2013. The Patriots were ranked No. 3 in the website’s preseason poll and last week’s first ranking of the regular season. The No. 3 ranking was the highest ranking in program history.

UT Tyler remains the only ASC school to be ranked in the poll coming into this week where the Patriots will host Hardin-Simmons at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Herrington Patriot Center. The Patriots are 2-0 this season at home after going 16-0 in Tyler last year. The Cowgirls are 3-3 on the season after earning a 63-51 win over East Texas Baptist in their ASC opener before taking a 75-67 loss against Louisiana College.

The Patriots will remain at home to host McMurry on Monday at 5:30 p.m. and then host Schreiner at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17.
