RICHARDSON -- UT Tyler women's basketball forward Brittany King has been named the American Southwest Conference Player of the Week the league office announced Monday.  King had a stellar week, highlighted by her 26 point, 21 rebound game on Saturday against Texas-Dallas.

King, a junior from Mesquite helped lead the Patriots to a 62-57 win over the Comets in a battle for first-place in the conference standings.

In the win, King scored 26 points and hauled-in 21 rebounds, which was just one shy of the all-time game record in women's program history.

She became the first UT Tyler player (men's or women's) in history to record 20+points scored and 20+rebounds in a game.

For the week, King averaged 19.0 ppg and 14.5 rpg and helped the Patriots improve to 12-2 in conference-play.
