Patriots Volleyball Drops Two

The UT Tyler Patriots dropped both ends of their dual-match against Texas A&M International and Southern Nazarene Saturday.

In the first game, Texas A&M International, which also won in their second match against Southern Nazarene, easily managed UT Tyler, with 47 kills to the Patriots' 24.

UT Tyler couldn't score more than 20 points in a game in the 3-0 loss, falling 14-30, 20-30, 15-30.

Amanda Gadison led UT Tyler with seven kills while Kelly Roberts had 21 passes. Tara Haney led the Patriots in digs with eight.

The Patriots fared only slightly better in their second match of the day, falling to Southern Nazarene 23-30, 20-30, 31-29, 28-30.

Jessica Lightfoot had 15 kills for UT Tyler, followed by Gadison with 14. Kristen Akin had 41 passes for UT Tyler and Roberts had 20 digs.

UT Tyler is now 2-5 on the season.

The volleyball team returns to action Sept. 16 with a road match against Wiley College in Marshall.
