The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team dropped an American Southwest Conference match to UT Dallas, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Herrington Patriot Center.

With the loss, UT Tyler falls to 8-13 overall and 5-6 in ASC play. UTD improves to 10-14 overall and 7-4 in the ASC.

The Patriots looked as if they were headed for an easy victory, taking game one from UTD, 30-12, behind a solid offensive performance by Jessica Lightfoot and Amanda Gadison.

UT Dallas came back to win game two, 32-30, then game three, 31-29. The Comets won the final game 30-25.

Kelly Roberts had 25 assists for UT Tyler while Kristen Akin added 24. Four different Patriots were in double-digits on digs: Roberts (15), Tara Haney (12), Jessica Lightfoot (11) and Megan McCarty (19).

Lightfoot picked up a double-double performance as she added 20 kills.

UT Tyler returns to action Tuesday as they host LeTourneau beginning at 7 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center
