RANKINGS: @UTTyler_vball at No. 8 in West Region

TYLER – The UT Tyler volleyball team is at No. 8 in the NCAA Division III West Region rankings that were posted on Wednesday with its 22-6 overall record entering the postseason.

The Patriots enter the regional rankings for the first time in program history and a day before opening the American Southwest Conference Championship where they will play Hardin-Simmons at noon in the double-elimination tournament being hosted at UT Dallas in Richardson. The winner of the ASC tournament earns an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament, while rankings will determine the remaining teams who receive at-large bids to the eight-team regional tournament. UT Tyler is looking to advance to its first NCAA postseason appearance in program history.

Colorado College is 27-0 this season and ranked No. 1 in the West Region, followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (23-4), Southwestern (24-3), Trinity (26-5), Pacific Lutheran (18-4), Whittier (18-9) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (25-3).
