SHREVEPORT, La. – The UT Tyler volleyball earned a pair of non-conference sweeps of Millsaps College and Centenary College on Friday on the first day of the Centenary Halloween Invitational.

The Patriots (21-6) have now won 20 or more matches in four seasons in program history and are approaching the all-time wins record of 24 established in 2013. UT Tyler will close out the regular season with a non-conference match against Austin College at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Shreveport before turning attention to the postseason that will begin at noon on Thursday, Nov. 3 against Hardin-Simmons in the first round of the American Southwest Conference Championship which is being hosted in Richardson.

UT Tyler opened its day with a 25-15, 25-21, 25-14 win over Millsaps led by Brianna Bellehumeur who had 13 kills and 15 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. Bellehumeur had an impressive .481 attacking percentage in the win, while Kayla McCoy bashed the Majors with seven kills and a .700 attacking percentage. Reighanna Guzman finished the match with 29 assists in three sets and led the offense to a .260 attacking percentage.

Makenna Bartlett led the defense with 11 digs, while Kyana Alvarez added seven digs and Guzman had six. Samantha Lee topped the Patriots with two blocks and also had four kills.

Against Centenary, Lee would provide 12 kills with Kaitlyn Budisalovich leading the team with 14 kills. Lee’s 12 kills came on 15 attacks for an .800 hitting percentage which is the best percentage this season for the Patriots. Budisalovich had a .522 attacking percentage and Brieanne Brown added seven kills with a .545 attack.

Guzman contributed 46 assists in the win and Alvarez provided 14 digs and Emily Robison 11 more for the Patriots who owned a 49-36 dig advantage over the Ladies who were limited to a .184 attack. The Patriots won the match 28-26, 25-16, 25-14 and have now swept 15 opponents this season.
