AWARD: Brown earns ASC Offensive Player of the Week

EAST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brieanne Brown, OH, Sr., UT Tyler
University of Texas at Tyler senior outside hitter Brieanne Brown (Belton, Texas / Belton HS) led the Patriots with 54 kills (3.86 per set) and 14 blocks (1.00) while hitting .430 as they went 2-2 on the week. She recorded 20 kills in a loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor and had 15 against McMurry. This is the second Player of the Week honors for Brown this season.

EAST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kristyn Schott, OH, So., UT Dallas
University of Texas at Dallas sophomore outside hitter Kristyn Schott (Flower Mound, Texas / Flower Mound HS) returned from injury to average 4.50 digs per set in three matches as the #22 Comets went undefeated. After missing the first 11 conference matches of the season, Schott returned for 12 digs and seven kills in a sweep of Howard Payne. She then had 20 digs against Concordia Texas in a four-set victory and 13 more digs in a sweep of Hardin-Simmons. This is the second Player of the Week award in Schott’s career.

WEST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Natasha Evans, S, Sr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor senior setter Natasha Evans (Edna, Texas / Edna HS) helped the Cru to a 4-0 week with 143 total assists (11.00 per set). She also hit .326 with 1.00 kill per set, three aces, eight blocks and 3.00 digs per set. Evans came up with 41 assists in a three-set sweep at McMurry for her third Player of the Week award of the season and eighth of her career.

WEST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Haleigh Evans, L, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore libero Haleigh Evans (Edna, Texas / Edna HS) averaged 5.15 digs per set and limited opponents to a .135 hitting percentage as the Cru went 4-0 on the week. She came up with 26 digs in a four-set win over UT Tyler for her third Player of the Week award of the year and fifth of her career.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Offensive
Concordia University Texas sophomore outside hitter Kelly Farina (Spring, Texas / Klein Collins HS) had double-digit kills in three of the Tornados’ matches of the week. She averaged 3.23 kills per set, hit .216 and had 3.54 digs per set.

UT Dallas freshman middle blocker Alana Geymer (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park) averaged 3.46 kills per set and hit .314 as the #22 Comets went 4-0 on the week. Geymer had double-digit kills in three matches, coming up with a season-high 15 in a four-set victory against Concordia Texas. She also averaged 1.08 blocks per set.

McMurry University sophomore middle blocker Justice McGowan (Waco, Texas / University HS) helped the War Hawks to a 3-1 week as she averaged 2.86 kills, 1.50 blocks and hit .311. She recorded double-digit kills in each match of the ASC Crossover and had five or blocks in all four matches.

Hardin-Simmons University senior middle blocker Grace Schulz (Mansfield, Texas / Mansfield HS) hit .315 with 3.23 kills and 1.46 blocks per set as the Cowgirls went 2-2 on the week.

Howard Payne University junior middle blocker Zhartezia Bradley (Austin, Texas / Connally HS) recorded 44 kills (3.67 per set) and hit .255 as the Lady Jackets went 1-2 at the ASC Crossover. She had a high of 20 kills in a five-set win over Belhaven.

Defensive
East Texas Baptist University junior outside hitter Paige Miller (Kerrville, Texas / Tivy HS) recorded three double-doubles at the ASC Crossover in Abilene, Texas. She averaged 2.93 kills and 4.13 digs per set. Miller had 26 digs and 12 kills against McMurry.

Concordia Texas sophomore libero Sydney Dudney (Austin, Texas / Austin HS) averaged 4.09 digs per set with 45 digs as the Tornados went 3-1 on the week.

Louisiana College freshman libero Olivia Huval (Breaux Bridge, La. / Breaux Bridge HS) recorded 60 digs for a 6.67 per set average in the Wildcats’ three losses. She had a season-high of 35 digs against Sul Ross State.

Hardin-Simmons junior libero Leecia Depaula (Burleson, Texas / Burleson HS) averaged 4.46 digs per set (58 digs) as the Cowgirls went 2-2 on the week.

Howard Payne freshman libero Jordan Livingston (Helotes, Texas / Brandeis HS) recorded 87 digs (7.25 per set) over three matches as the Lady Jackets went 1-2 at the ASC Crossover. She came up with 35 digs in a five-set victory over Belhaven.
