ABILENE – UT Tyler senior Brieanne Brown recorded 20 kills and Haley Nemitz had a season-best 11 kills, but it wasn’t enough as Mary Hardin-Baylor secured a four-set win over the Patriots in their final match at the American Southwest Conference Crossover on Saturday at Hardin-Simmons University.

The Patriots (17-6, 10-4 ASC) went 1-2 in Abilene with a sweep of Sul Ross before dropping matches against McMurry and then the Cru which leads the ASC West Division with a 21-2 overall record and a 13-1 mark in conference play. UT Tyler will play its home finale at 7 p.m. on Tuesday against UT Dallas before finishing the regular season with four road matches.

Brown now has 201 kills this season after a weekend with 10 kills against SRSU and 15 against McMurry. She also led the Patriots with a .424 attacking percentage. Her season-best is 21 in a win over Howard Payne.

Reighanna Guzman led the team with 22 assists and 17 digs, while Madison Denning added 18 kills and seven digs. Defensively, Makenna Bartlett had 17 digs, Brianna Bellehumeur 12 and Emily Robison 11 more.
