TYLER – The UT Tyler volleyball team will host LeTourneau at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Herrington Patriot Center after earning a pair of American Southwest Conference sweeps last weekend and being tied atop the ASC East Division standings.

The Patriots (15-4, 8-2 ASC) will look to sweep the season series against the YellowJackets (6-14, 1-7 ASC) after they took a 25-14, 25-14, 25-10 back on Sept. 13 in Longview. UT Tyler has a four-match week ahead of itself with a trip to Abilene for the second ASC Crossover following Wednesday’s match. The team will play Sul Ross and McMurry on Friday and Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at Hardin-Simmons University before returning to Tyler where they will play their final home match of the season against No. 22 UT Dallas (14-4, 8-2 ASC) on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at the HPC. The Patriots and Comets are currently tied for the ASC East, but UTD took a 21-25, 23-25, 23-25 win in Richardson in the first meeting.

A Frisco native, she set a new career-best with 22 blocks last Thursday against Southwestern and has recorded eight double-doubles this season, including two over the weekend against Belhaven (12 kills, 18 digs) and Louisiana College (11/10). Brown is the team’s only senior and comes into this week’s matches with 147 kills and six double-digit kill performances this season and 822 career kills.

Lee and Blair Dressendorfer have added 106 kills each, while Haley Nemitz has 92 kills and Loren Guerra 81 more. Guerra is also a leader on the block with 47 and Nemitz has added 40 blocks in her junior season. Kaitlyn Budisalovich recorded 15 kills last Thursday against Southwestern and 14 in the sweep of Belhaven before finishing off the week with nine kills and a season-best seven digs in the quick win over LC.
