PINEVILLE, Louisiana – Samantha Lee and Blair Dressendorfer slammed down eight kills each and Makenna Bartlett had eight digs to help lead the UT Tyler volleyball team to an American Southwest Conference sweep of Louisiana College on Friday in the first-ever match at the H.O. West Fieldhouse.

The Patriots (9-1, 2-0 ASC) cruised to the win over the Wildcats (0-6, 0-1 ASC) who are in their inaugural season and hosted their first home match. UT Tyler has now swept six opponents this season, including three in a row and the first two on its conference schedule after also rolling through LeTourneau on Wednesday in Longview. The three-match road trip to open ASC play continues with a 1 p.m. match on Saturday against Belhaven in Jackson, Mississippi.

Dressendorfer added three blocks and Lee two in the match against LC, while Brianna Bellehumeur had seven kills and five digs in the quick three-set win. The UT Tyler offense was orchestrated by Reighanna Guzman who had 17 assists and Madison Denning’s 10 assist.

UT Tyler is now 6-0 on the road going into the match against Belhaven on Saturday. The Blazers enter the match with a 4-5 record after taking a three-set loss to UT Dallas on Friday night. The Patriots will return to Texas after the match and to the Herrington Patriot Center court with a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday against East Texas Baptist.
