The UT Tyler volleyball team will play their first home game
of the 2011 season on Friday night. Game
time for the American Southwest Conference match-up with East Texas Baptist is
set for 7 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center.
It will also be the inaugural home game for first-year head
coach Suzanne Truitt who has the Patriots off to a 7-3 start to the season –
their best ever.
Students and fans attending Friday night’s game are encouraged
to wear orange. Fans will also have a
chance to win prizes and receive give-a-ways, including certificates for free
smoothies from Smoothie King in Tyler.
UT Tyler Greeks and student organizations are encouraged to
participate and the organization that is the most enthusiastic and supportive
during Friday night’s game will receive a free pizza party at a future home
volleyball game this season.
The Patriots’ home stand continues through Saturday when the
volleyball team hosts LeTourneau at 2 p.m.
