Junior right side/defensive specialist Morgan Murphy (Mesquite, Texas/Richland College) has been named American Southwest Conference East Division Defensive Specialist of the Week. Murphy provided UT Tyler with consistent passes, back-row defense and opposing hitter reads in its two matches last week. Morgan averaged 4.57 digs, and shut down the East Texas Baptist offense with 15 digs in the ASC East match-up last Tuesday (Sept. 23).
