Amanda Gadison, a junior middle blocker on the Patriot volleyball team, is UT Tyler’s athlete of the week for September 29 through October 5.
Originally from Bartlett, Texas and transferring to UT Tyler from Temple Junior College, Gadison has taken charge of the net for the Patriots, averaging a team high of 1.21 blocks per game and 47 total blocks.
“Amanda is a true athlete, possessing a combination of raw talent, a desire to win, strong work ethic and a positive attitude,” said UT Tyler’s head coach Rachel Short. “Her quick swing on the middle attack consistently throws the defense off. I can count on Amanda to give full effort both defensively and offensively. It is an absolute pleasure to have Amanda on the team.”
In only its first year of volleyball competition, UT Tyler is a steady 7-8 on the season and 2-3 in American Southwest Conference play.
