TYLER – The UT Tyler volleyball team will play East Texas Baptist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Marshall in its final American Southwest Conference match of the regular season before playing Millsaps, Centenary and Austin College this weekend in Shreveport.

The Patriots (18-6, 11-4 ASC) earned a 25-17, 25-22, 25-13 sweep of the Tigers (12-16, 8-7 ASC) in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season in Tyler. UT Tyler is currently second in the ASC East Division, just one match behind UT Dallas (12-3 ASC) which plays LeTourneau on Tuesday in its final conference match. The ASC East Division champion will host next week's ASC Championship tournament from Nov. 2-4 in its home gym.

“We are looking forward to playing at ETBU,” UT Tyler head coach Lyndsay Mashe said. “They always bring a good crowd and it’s a fun atmosphere to compete in.  It’s our last conference match and so we want to finish playing at high level. I really like the way our team is competing right now. We are playing with a lot of energy, our defense is solid and we are really working well as a team.”

Brianna Bellehumeur and Brieanne Brown have led the offensive attack for the Patriots this season, while Samantha Lee leads the block and Makenna Bartlett has 360 digs to top the defensive effort. A freshman from Frisco, Bellehumeur has 218 kills to go along with 287 digs for the Patriots including going off for 13 kills and 15 digs in last week’s sweep of No. 22 UT Dallas. She currently ranks 10th in the ASC with 2.56 kills per set. Bellehumeur, who also leads the team with 26 aces, has had nine matches with double-digit kill and dig performances with a season-best 22 digs in a four-set loss to No. 5 Southwestern and a career-best 16 kills in a sweep of Susquehanna. Brown is the lone senior on the roster this season and comes into the final week of the regular season with 213 kills. Brown had 12 kills and three blocks in the win over the Comets. She now has 888 kills in her career which ranks fifth all-time behind only Rachel Harvey (893), Breanna Brummett (894), Danika Waldrep (1,222) and Jessica Lightfoot (1,332).

Lee has provided 65 blocks this season and lead the team with a .326 attacking percentage that has resulted in 122 kills. Kaitlyn Budisalovich as added 117 kills with 11 coming against UTD, while Kayla McCoy had a season-best eight kills against the Comets and now has 32 kills this season. From the setter position, Reighanna Guzman leads UT Tyler with 515 assists after producing a career-best 44 assists against UTD. A San Antonio native who started her career with one season at ETBU, Guzman has also contributed 188 digs and 34 for the Patriots. Madison Denning has 323 assists and 128 digs as a setter also.

Bartlett, a sophomore libero from Round Rock, is averaging 4.24 digs per set that has her at 360 digs for the season. She is currently sixth in the ASC in digs and has also contributed 89 assists and is tied with Guzman with 24 aces. Emily Robison has added 165 digs and 10 aces, while Loren Guerra has 51 blocks and 95 kills and Haley Nemitz has produced 113 kills and 48 blocks for the defense.

ETBU comes into the contest on a four-match winning streak with victories over Howard Payne, LeTourneau, Louisiana College and Belhaven. The Tigers are 4-1 on their home court this season and are being led by Paige Miller who has 244 kills this season and Allison Sevening who has 208 kills.

UT Tyler is currently 10-4 away from home this season and will be looking to win its first match in Marshall since Oct. 18, 2011. The Patriots snapped an 11-match losing streak to the Tigers with the win earlier this season. The team will finish off the regular season with matches on Friday against Millsaps and Centenary before taking on Austin College on Saturday in the regular-season finale.
