AMERICAN SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

EAST DIVISION OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Caroline Shecterle, S, So., UT Dallas
University of Texas at Dallas sophomore setter Caroline Shecterle (Pearland, Texas / Pearland HS) averaged 6.67 assists per set in the #22 Comets’ 6-2 offense as they went 2-0 in conference play. She had 19 assists and nine digs in Friday’s sweep of Louisiana College and recorded 21 assists and nine digs in a sweep of Belhaven.

EAST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brianna Bellehumeur, OH, Fr., UT Tyler
University of Texas at Tyler freshman outside hitter Brianna Bellehumeur (Frisco, Texas / Frisco HS) averaged 5.00 digs per set as the Patriots went 2-1 on the week. Bellehumeur had a season-high 22 digs and nine kills in a three-set loss to #5 Southwestern then recorded a pair of double-doubles in conference play. She had 18 digs and 12 kills in a sweep of Belhaven and 10 digs and 11 kills in another sweep of Louisiana College. For the week, Bellehumeur also averaged 3.20 kills per set and hit .232.

WEST DIVISION CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Marissa Stinson, MB, So., Concordia Texas
Concordia University Texas sophomore middle blocker Marissa Stinson (Pearland, Texas / Marvel HS) helped the Tornados go 2-1 on the week, with 37 kills (3.36 per set), a .321 hitting percentage and 1.36 blocks per set. She hit .433 with 17 kills in a four-set victory against Howard Payne and 11 kills with five blocks in a sweep over Sul Ross State.

WEST DIVISION CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Miranda Klein, RS, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore right side Miranda Klein (Georgetown, Texas / East View HS) helped the Cru to a 3-1 week, hitting .311 with 3.45 kills per set. She led UMHB with 16 kills and hit .308 in a four-set loss to #3 Trinity. Klein also had six assists, three aces, 29 digs and eight blocks on the week.

WEST DIVISION DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Haleigh Evans, L, So., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Mary Hardin-Baylor sophomore libero Haleigh Evans (Edna, Texas / Edna HS) averaged 5.23 digs per set and limited opponents to a .089 hitting percentage as the Cru went 3-1 on the week. She came up with 25 digs in a four-set loss to #3 Trinity. This is the second time this season and fourth in her career that Evans has won Defensive Player of the Week honors.

OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES
Offensive
UT Tyler sophomore outside hitter Kaitlyn Budisalovich (Cypress, Texas / Cypress Woods HS) led the Patriots with 38 kills (3.80 per set) and hit .290 as they went 2-1 on the week. She started the week with 15 kills in a three-set loss to #5 Southwestern then had 14 kills in a sweep of Belhaven. She hit .500 with nine kills and seven digs in a sweep of Louisiana College.

Defensive
UT Dallas senior middle blocker Emma Wallbrown (Cedar Park, Texas / Cedar Park HS) averaged 2.33 kills and 1.17 blocks per set while hitting .545 as the #22 Comets swept Louisiana College and Belhaven. Wallbrown recorded five kills and three blocks against the Wildcats, then had nine kills and four blocks against the Blazers. She also averaged 0.67 digs per set.

Concordia Texas sophomore outside hitter Kelly Farina (Spring, Texas / Klein Collins HS) averaged 2.82 digs and 0.64 per set as the Tornadoes went 2-1 on the week. She also averaged 2.09 kills per set. Farina came up with 18 digs and four blocks in a four-set loss to Texas Lutheran on Tuesday.
