- NCAA DIII Championship All-Tournament Team

Junior (2016): Van Vlerah made an immediate impact as a transfer player who started 38 games and played in 50 for the NCAA DIII National Champions... Van Vlerah finished the season hitting .367 with 36 total hits, including two doubles and 34 singles... She would score 26 runs and drive in 11 during the season where she had eight multi-hit games and had a two-RBI performance against UMHB... She had a season-best 3-for-3 performance against Messiah in the first game of the NCAA DIII National Finals and was named to the All-Tournament team... Finished the national tournament 7-for-14, including 4-for-5 in the finals. 

Previous College: Played at Kilgore College from as a freshman and sophomore where she was named to the 2014 Region XIV 2nd Team All Conference and 2014 NJCAA All Star Team.

High School: Played for coach Kathy Johnson at James Bowie High in Austin… Named 2nd Team All District.

Personal: Daughter of James and Sylvia Van Vlerah… Has two siblings, Eric Luna and Bryan Van Vlerah. 

Major: Kinesiology

Why UT Tyler?: "I chose UT Tyler because of the campus and the city is absolutely beautiful. I am happy to be apart of a tradition on and off the field. Also because the campus is not that big so everything and everyone are close."
