Prather named to ASBA All-Defensive Team

TYLER, Texas (August 7, 2018) - Kaylee Prather completed her first professional season in the American Softball Association (ASBA).  

The ASBA hosted its inaugural season this summer as a professional softball league for former collegiate softball players. 

Prather experienced success at UT Tyler as a student-athlete who competed in both Softball and Track and Field. Following her senior year, Prather joined the E1 Pro Ballers. She batted .284 in 24 games this season, starting all 24 games. Prather hit four doubles and homerun while swiping 15 bases, a team high. 

In the field, Prather boasted a .983 fielding percentage where she recorded 56 putouts.  

Prather was joined by former teammate Kelsey Batten who toed the rubber for the E1 Pro Ballers. Batten tossed seven and two-thirds innings, picking up seven strikeouts. 

Prather was joined by eight other members of the ASBA on the 2018 All-Defensive team:

Pitcher: Rebecca Arbino - San Diego State

Catcher: Calyn Adams - Mississippi State

First Base: Stephanie Texeira - Florida International

Second Base: Paige McKinney - Ole' Miss

Third Base: Savannah Horvath - Cal State Northridge

Shortstop: Taylor Wike - North Carolina

Outfield: Kaylee Prather - The University of Texas at Tyler

               Kendyl Scott - Towson

               Taylor Glover - Cal State Northridge
