    The No. 3-ranked UT Tyler Patriots (5-0, 3-0 ASC) took the series finale 8-0 in five innings, sweeping the McMurry War Hawks (2-6, 0-3 ASC) in the American Southwest Conference opener on Sunday at Red Bud Park.

    RECAP: @Patriot_sb sweeps doubleheader over War Hawks

    The UT Tyler softball team swept a doubleheader against McMurry winning 6-4 and 15-0 (5) on Saturday at Red Bud Park. The Patriots (4-0, 2-0 ASC) stayed unbeaten on the season while the War Hawks (2-5, 0-2 ASC) will be looking to avoid the series sweep in the finale at noon on Sunday.

    UT Tyler freshman Ashley Perez had three doubles and drove in six runs while Patriot starting pitchers Collen Bentke and Whitney Romero combined for 11 strikeouts in a doubleheader sweep of Southwestern on Wednesday at Taylor-Sanders Field.

    The UT Tyler softball team is picked to win the American Southwest Conference after receiving 23 of 26 first-place votes from the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Additionally, Andrea Gonzales, Hannah Moore and Colleen Bentke were identified as ASC Players to Watch in the conference’s preseason release.

    @Patriot_sb announces 2018 schedule

    The UT Tyler softball program has announced its 2018 schedule with 20 home and 20 away games in the 14th season in program history, including the Irwin Classic in March which will bring some of the top NCAA Division III programs in the nation to Suddenlink Field.

    UT Tyler had 14 players honored with the recognition including, Kaylee Prather, KK Stevens, Alaina Kissinger, Hannah Moore, Kursten Jaime, Hallee Carter, Abby Hall, Whitney Romero, Jewel Moody, Alyssa Henry, Courtney Fisher, Andrea Gonzales, Ryata Daniel and Miranda Leal.

    UT Tyler head softball coach Mike Reed has announced the addition of another NFCA All-American to his coaching staff with the hiring of Leah Brown who was a two-time All-America during her playing career at Mary Hardin-Baylor.

    UT Tyler senior KK Stevens has been nominated for the 2017 NCAA Woman of the Year award for her on-field production and team leadership for the Patriot softball team along with her commitment to community service.
