UT Tyler senior utility player Katelyn Thomason went 11-for-18 with a triple and 11 RBIs to lead the No. 2-ranked Patriots to a 6-0 start to the season and was named American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week for her performance.
Thomason, from Spring, Texas, had four multi-hit games, scored seven runs, walked twice and stole two bases.
Pitching for the Patriots, she went 2-0 after allowing only one earned run and striking out 16 batters in 11 1/3 innings of work.
Thomason and the Patriots will travel for Farmer's Branch, Texas, this weekend for the annual ASC First Pitch Tournament. UT Tyler holds a 21-game winning stream in the tournament.
