Coby Gipson
Coby Gipson enters his sixth year with the UT Tyler Softball program. His primary responsibilities include coaching catchers, recruiting, and advanced scouting. He has helped the Patriots reach three NCAA DIII World Series in 2009, 2011 and 2013.
Gipson is no stranger to the American Southwest Conference, having played four years of collegiate baseball at LeTourneau where he pitched nearly 300 innings during his career.
While at LeTourneau, Gipson was voted team captain for three consecutive years and was the recipient of the Roger Erickstad Award for athletic, academic and community service achievement during his senior year. Gipson was also very involved off the field, having served as the president of the LeTourneau chapters of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Gipson is married to fellow Patriot coach Christy Gipson and they have one daughter, Camryn.
