RICHARDSON -- UT Tyler baseball player Derek Miller has been named the American Southwest Conference east division Pitcher of the Week. Miller, last season's ASC-leader in saves recorded two in his first two appearances of the season.
The senior right-hander from Tyler earned saves in the first two games of the
season, totaling two shutout innings without allowing a hit or walk. Miller
also struck out a combined four batters in a 3-1 win over Rogers State and a 3-0 contest against Tabor.
Last season, Miller was named All-ASC after leading the conference in saves with nine.
