RICHARDSON -- UT Tyler women's basketball player Brittany King has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week. King, a sophomore from Mesquite averaged 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds for the week.
King was stellar against East Texas Baptist last Thursday, scoring 19 points and hauling in 16 rebounds for her fourth double-double on the year. In the blowout win against LeTourneau on Saturday, King set a new UT Tyler record for free throws made in a game with 18, on her way to a 22-point performance.
For the season, King leads the Patriots with 11.4 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game.
