TYLER -- UT Tyler men's golfer John Dukes has been named the American Southwest Conference Men's Golfer of the Week. Dukes was impressive in his first tournament of the year, finishing in a first-place tie at the Al Jones Memorial Tournament in Tyler.
Dukes, a senior, was instrumental in leading the Patriots to their first team-win of the Fall season, after firing a 144 combined score for the tournament.
Last season Dukes was the runner-up at the ASC Golf Championships, and helped lead the team to a 6th-place overall finish at the 2012 National Championships.
The men will be back-in-action on October 14 at the Golfweek Invitational in Sandestin, Florida.
