TYLER -- UT Tyler women's golfer Laura Lindsey has been named the American Southwest Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. Lindsey finished in first-place at the Al Jones Memorial Tournament in Tyler this past weekend.
Lindsey, a freshman from Montgomery has been impressive in her first-two starts in her college career, finishing fifth at the Paris CC Invitational a few weeks ago, firing a 156 in two rounds.
Even more impressive was her play at the Patriots' home tournament. Lindsey and teammate Megan Escoe both fired a 154, with Lindsey winning on a playoff.
Lindsey and the team now head to Alabama to play in the Birmingham Southern Invitational beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
