TYLER -- Both the men's and women's soccer teams are ranked in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA DIII Regional Rankings according to the polls announced today.  

The women, who received a No. 7 ranking in the West Region, are currently enjoying the second-best start in program history (3-1), with the only loss coming to the region's No. 1 ranked team, Trinity this past Friday night.  The Patriots will face two of the top-five teams in the region this season, with No. 2 Hardin-Simmons on the schedule later this season.

The UT Tyler men's soccer team is currently ranked as the No. 4 team in the West Region, according to the NSCAA poll.   After a 2-1 start which included a loss to the No. 1 team in the region, Trinity, the Patriots look to improve on the season they had last year, reaching the NCAA quarterfinals.  

Both teams will open American Southwest Conference play Thursday against ASC east rival East Texas Baptist in a double-header beginning at 5 p.m. in Marshall.
