TYLER -- Jeff Williford has been named the Student and Sports Communications Coordinator at The University of Texas at Tyler, Peyton Low, assistant athletic director for public relations and operations announced this week. 

Williford has served the past two seasons with the Patriots as a student assistant in the athletics public relations office, where he was responsible for numerous projects, including post-game video interviews, social media management, game operations and the introduction of the new video-blog, "The Inside Swoop".  

"I am very excited to join the UT Tyler family on a full-time basis", said Williford.  "This is one of the best programs in the nation, and I am very proud to be a part of such a tight-knit group."

Williford will be responsible for the UT Tyler athletics web site, promoting the athletics department and University through social media, and special interest stories on UT Tyler students. 

Williford is a two-time American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference honoree, and served as the Media Coordinator at the 2012 ASC Golf Championships.

A native of Lindale, Williford holds a degree in Public Relations from UT Tyler. He and his wife Andreia have one son.
