WHITNEY SIMMONS DAY: City of Tyler Proclaims July 12, 2017 to Honor UT Tyler National Champion

Whitney Simmons will be honored at 9 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the Tyler City Council meeting in City Hall at 212 N. Bonner Ave. which is open to the public. 

Mark your calendars for JULY 12, 2017 which has been proclaimed WHITNEY SIMMONS DAY by the City of Tyler councilman Bob Westbrook after Whitney earned her third NCAA Division III National Championship. Simmons, a UT Tyler senior from White Oak, established a new hammer throw record at 64.03 meters at the NCAA DIII Championship in Ohio to become a seven-time All-America on top of defending her national title.
