    RECAP: Richardson sets @UTT_TF 400-meter record

    UT Tyler junior Zach Richardson set a new 400-meter program record by running a 48.94, while Kaylee Prather leaped 5.44 meters to finish second in the long jump to highlight Patriot performances at the Aggie Twilight in Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium.

    AWARD: Prather goes back-to-back with ASC honors

    UT Tyler senior Kaylee Prather earned her second consecutive Track Athlete of the Week award after placing fourth in the 60 meter dash finals at the Broncho Open in Norman, Oklahoma with a time of 7.92 seconds. Her mark leads the ASC and is tied for 36th in NCAA Division III and tied for sixth in the region. Prather also won the long jump with a mark of 5.32 meters (17 ft.-5.5 in.).

    RECAP: @UTT_TF has strong showing in Oklahoma

    UT Tyler's Zach Richardson ran a 22.59 to win the 200-meter dash, Kaylee Prather won the women’s long jump with a distance of 5.32 meters and Cody Benton won the men’s long jump at 6.61 meters on Saturday at the Broncho Open. On the Mosier Indoor Track, Richardson ran a 7.12 to finish third in the 60 and Matthew Cecotti established a new UT Tyler record by running a 4:24.85 in the 1-mile.

    PREVIEW: @UTT_TF to compete in Norman, Oklahoma

    The UT Tyler Patriots will compete in the University of Central Oklahoma’s Broncho Open on Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Track in Norman, Oklahoma. Below is a list of UT Tyler athletes and their events. The meet is scheduled to begin a 9:30 a.m. with running events and 11 a.m. for field events.

    AWARDS: Prather earns ASC award after @UTT_TF record jump

    Kaylee Prather established a new UT Tyler school record in the long jump with a distance of 17-11.50 last Friday at the Missouri Southern Lion Open in Joplin, Missouri. In her first year competing in track after an all-American softball career, Prather's first long jump competition resulted in her finishing fifth overall at the meet. She would also run an 8.10 in the 60-meter on Saturday for 18th at the event.

    RECAP: Nix, McGeary set new @UTT_TF marks in Missouri

    UT Tyler school records continue to fall as Michaela McGeary broke the women’s shot put mark with a throw of 11.20 meters and Victoria Nix cleared 11-feet, 5.75 inches in the pole vault to highlight Patriot success on Saturday at the Missouri Southern Lion Open.

    RECAP: Prather, Benton set @UTT_TF long jump records

    UT Tyler senior Kaylee Prather shattered the previous school long jump record with a distance of 17-feet, 11.5 inches and Cody Benton extended his previous program long jump record at 21-feet, 11.5 on Friday at the Missouri Southern Lion Open at the Mercy Indoor Track. The two-day event will continue on Saturday with multiple UT Tyler student-athletes competing.

    PREVIEW: @UTT_TF to compete in Missouri

    The UT Tyler Patriots will compete in their second indoor meet of the season at the Missouri Southern Lion Open at the Mercy Indoor Track on Friday and Saturday in Joplin, Missouri. The Patriots will be sending 24 athletes to Missouri, including Zach Richardson who ran the second fastest 60-meter in program history with a time of 7.08 at the UCO Open two weeks ago and Cody Benton who set a new UT Tyler long jump record at 21-feet, 10.25 inches. Victoria Nix will also be back in action after she cleared 10-feet in the pole vault for a fifth-place finish.

    Cecotti, Benton set school records at UCO Open

    Matthew Cecotti established a new UT Tyler 1-mile Indoor record by running a 4:35.30 and Cody Benton set a new long jump mark to highlight the Patriots performances at the season-opening UCO Open on Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Track.

    Hepler to resign from UT Tyler positions at semester's end

    Bob Hepler has announced his intentions to resign from his positions as The University of Texas at Tyler’s head men’s and women’s Track & Field and Cross Country coach and Director of the Louise Herrington Patriot Center (HPC) following the completion of the Spring 2018 semester to pursue coaching positions at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. A 20-time American Southwest Coach of the Year, he will continue in his current roles at UT Tyler until that time.

    The UT Tyler Track & Field team will not be competing today at the Dunamis Indoor Opener at Dallas Market Hall after the event was canceled. UT Tyler will now open its Indoor season on Jan. 20, 2018 at the UCO Open in Norman, Oklahoma.

    Simmons hired as assistant track & field coach

    UT Tyler has hired its most decorated student-athlete in athletic department history in three-time NCAA national champion Whitney Simmons who is the new Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for the track & field and cross country programs.

    Whitney Simmons was honored on July 12, 2017 by Tyler Mayor Martin Heines prior to the Tyler City Council meeting in City Hall with a proclamation making it Whitney Simmons Day to honor her athletic career at the University of Texas at Tyler.

    AWARD: Simmons named ASC Athlete of the Year

    UT Tyler senior Whitney Simmons has been selected as an American Southwest Conference Athlete of the Year recipient after winning two NCAA Track & Field National Championships and a pair of American Southwest Conference titles to cap her historic career for the Patriots. Teidrick Smith was named the ASC Male Athlete of the Year for helping to lead the Mary Hardin-Baylor football team to the NCAA Division III championship.

    GOHMERT RECOGNIZES SIMMONS FOR NATIONAL TITLE

    Louie Gohmert sends his congratulations to UT Tyler's Whitney Simmons for winning her third NCAA Division III National Championship. Thanks to Congressman Gohmert for this video that recognizes the White Oak native for winning the 2017 NCAA DIII Hammer Throw Championship with a national record of 64.03 meters two weeks ago in Ohio.
