TYLER – The defending American Southwest Conference Champion UT Tyler baseball team is set for a fall schedule that includes three practices, four intrasquad scrimmages and a five-game Fall World Series at Irwin Field.

The Patriots are coming off a 34-12 season where they won the ASC regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the fifth time in program history. UT Tyler’s fall schedule begins on Thursday and Friday with a pair of practices before they break into two intrasquad teams to play their first set of games on Saturday and Sunday. The highlight of the fall for fans will be the UT Tyler Fall World Series which will be played from Oct. 28-Nov. 1. The program will host Family Weekend during the World Series and will honor last season’s championship team with a ring ceremony after the fourth game of the series on Saturday, Oct. 31.

“I think every fall what you’re really trying to do is figure out your team,” UT Tyler head coach Chris Bertrand said. “You’re evaluating what personnel you have and what the strengths and weakness of the team are. You want to know what brand of baseball you’re going to play, so that’s the goal at the onset of every single fall. We have a pretty good feeling about how good we’re going to be on the mound with what we have returning, but we have a lot of new faces on offense and defense. We’re going to have to figure out during the fall what type of offense we’re going to have and how we’re going to score runs. This fall is going to be about playing as much as we can and finding out how we are going to score runs and what our best lineup is going to be.”
