TYLER – The No. 12-ranked UT Tyler baseball team will host Millsaps at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in a midweek non-conference game at Irwin Field before traveling to play at Hardin-Simmons this weekend in a three-game American Southwest Conference series in Abilene.

The Patriots (8-5) are playing the Majors (11-4) for the second time this season after they went to Jackson, Mississippi two weeks ago and earned a 7-1 win. UT Tyler followed that game with a three-game sweep of Texas Lutheran in Seguin, but then dropped two of three last weekend to East Texas Baptist to start ASC play at Irwin Field. The Patriots are currently 4-5 on their home field this season and 7-3 in non-conference play. Since losing to UT Tyler, Millsaps is 5-1 including taking two of three last weekend against Rhodes College.

Jared Pauley is leading the Patriots this season with a .385 batting average, including nine singles and a double. Pauley was 4-for-9 with two RBI in the series against ETBU last weekend, while Jordan Antley was 5-for-10 and Blake Wilson and Bowie Farris had four hits each in the three games against the Tigers. Antley is currently hitting .343 with four RBI and eight runs scored, while Wilson leads the team with 16 hits after going 4-for-11 last weekend. Blake Maddox leads the Patriots with eight RBI this season and hit a home run against the Majors in the first game against them two weeks ago, while Josh Burns leads the team with two home runs. Burns driven in seven runs this season, while Ben Romines and Alex Bishop have six RBI each. Bishop hit the first home run of his senior season in the finale against ETBU, while Romines was presented the Issac Tijerina Award prior to the games on Saturday.

UT Tyler will return to action at 7 p.m. on Friday in the series opener against HSU followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday to finish the series. The Patriots return home to host UT Dallas on March 16-17 at Irwin Field.
