MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Matthew Cecotti, Fr., UT Tyler
University of Texas at Tyler freshman Matthew Cecotti (Lindale, Texas) established a new Patriots record by running a 4:35.30 time in the mile at the UCO Invitational in Norman, Okla., placing seventh. He also took 12th in the 3,000 meters in 9:50.40. Cecotti’s mile time ranks 14th in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region.
 
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Lorenzo Jones, Fr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons University freshman Lorenzo Jones (Big Spring, Texas) posted a long jump of 6.24 meters (20 ft.-5.75 in.) at the New Mexico Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque. He also cleared a triple jump of 12.54 meters (41 ft.-1.75 in.) and ran the 600 meters in 1:27.82. Jones ranks 11th in the South/Southeast Region in the triple jump and 15th in the long jump.
 
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Sydney Tencate, Jr., Hardin-Simmons
Hardin-Simmons junior Sydney Tencate (Moran, Texas) wins her second career Athlete of the Week award after setting two indoor school records at the New Mexico MLK Invite. She placed fourth in the 3,000 meters in 11:00.61 and was 20th in the mile in 5:31.08. Tencate ranks sixth in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region in the mile and 10th in the 3,000 meters.
 
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Brittany Everett, Jr., McMurry
McMurry University junior Bethany Everett (Stratford, Texas) posted the top weight throw in the South/Southeast Region with a mark of 15.76 meters (51 ft.-8.5 in.) at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational. Her distance also leads the NCCAA and the ASC.
 
OTHER TOP MEN’S PERFORMANCES
UT Tyler freshman Cody Benton (Richardson, Texas) placed fifth at the UCO Invitational with a long jump of 6.66 meters (21 ft.-10.25 in.), placing fifth. His mark is the fourth-best in the South/Southeast Region so far this season.
 
McMurry junior Krystofer Campos (Knox City, Texas) posted the third best shot put in the region with a throw of 14.55 meters (47 ft.-9 in.), placing seventh at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational.
 
McMurry senior Michael Brown (Oxnard, Calif.) finished 15th in the 400 meter dash at the Red Raider Invite. His time of 50.33 seconds is good for fifth-best in the region.

OTHER TOP WOMEN’S PERFORMANCES
Hardin-Simmons junior Rhea Harris (Kaiserlautern, Germany) posted a long jump of 4.75 meters (15 ft.-7 in.) at the New Mexico Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational. Her mark is the 19th-best in the South/Southeast Region.
 
McMurry senior Kaila Shelfer (Alvarado, Texas) ran the 200 meter dash in 26.06 seconds at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational. Her time ranks fifth in the region.
 
UT Tyler junior forward Lexie Petty (Midlothian, Texas) recorded the eighth-best weight throw in the region with a mark of 12.71 meters (41 ft.-8.5 in.) at the UCO Invitational.
