Game 3: Pacific Lutheran 8, Huntingdon 0
TYLER, Texas -- The Pacific Lutheran Lutes shut out Huntingdon over five innings to claim an 8-0 first-round win at the Tyler Regional of the NCAA Division III Softball Championships.

PLU's Stacey Hagensen struck out six batters and ceded only one hit en route to the victory. The senior retired the first 10 batters she faced, and also hit 1-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and two runs scored.

Kaaren Hatlen led the Lutes at the plate by going 2-for-2 with three RBIs. She gave the Lutes all the cushion they needed in her first two at-bats with a first-inning RBI double and a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning.

Glenelle Nita went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Lutes. Seven of the nine hitters in PLU's lineup collected base hits in the game.

Bree Giordana took the loss for Huntingdon College, which will face Birmingham-Southern College in an elimination game to kick off Saturday's slate of games. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.

The Lutes face University of Redlands in a winner's bracket contest scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
